Mary Knapp, Assistant State Climatologist received the K-State Research and Extension Professional Staff Employee of the Year Award at the KSRE Annual Conference on Thursday. The citation describes her work as follows:

Mary Knapp occupies a unique position in the Department of Agronomy, where she works with an expanding team to serve as a resource on climate and weather matters.

She is frequently invited to make presentations on topics ranging from climate predictions to application of climate data to citizen safety. Her website, which was completely redeveloped in 2015, is a source of critical data sets used for research, coursework, and decision-making.
